Privacy Notice
Love the Philippines is run by Kooya, the personal information controller for this site, under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
1. Public records
The site republishes public government records (DBM, DPWH, PhilGEPS, COA and others listed on Sources). These name agencies, offices and contractors. We do not collect or publish private individuals’ personal data from other sources.
2. What you give us
If you send evidence or a right-of-reply response, we receive what you type or upload, and an optional contact email. You can submit anonymously. We use this only to check the information against public records and to contact you about it. People review every submission; submissions are never published automatically, and we do not publish your contact details. When an evidence submission is approved, the edited text and the photos chosen by moderators (with metadata removed) are shown publicly on the related project or risk page; names, contact details and private files are never published.
3. Who sees it
A small Kooya review team. Data is stored on Google Cloud in Singapore (asia-southeast1). We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. We disclose it only if the law requires, for example under a court order.
4. How long we keep it
| Evidence submissions (description, location, links) | 24 months after the case is closed, then deleted. Kept longer only if it supports a published correction. |
| Contact email you give us | Deleted 12 months after the case is closed, or sooner on request. |
| Uploaded files and photos | Photo location data (EXIF) is removed after upload. Deleted 12 months after the case is closed unless used in a published finding. |
| Right-of-reply responses | Kept while the related indicator is online, and 12 months after it is removed. |
| Hashed network identifier used for abuse limits | Salted one-way hash, not your IP address. Deleted after 30 days. |
| Server logs | Up to 30 days (Google Cloud default), used for security and fixing errors. |
| Analytics (only if you accept) | Google Analytics 4, kept for the period set in our Google account (2 months by default), no advertising features. |
5. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete personal data you gave us, object to its use, or file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph). To make a request, use the submission form and include your reference code.
6. Cookies and analytics
See Analytics and cookies. Analytics runs only if you accept, and never on submission or review pages.
7. Security
Uploads are kept in a private storage bucket, admin tools need a password and lock after repeated failed logins, and traffic is encrypted. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the National Privacy Commission as the law requires.
Effective October 23, 2026. Data Protection Officer: to be named.
