AN ACT AUTHORIZING DISTRIBUTION UTILITIES OPERATING IN PROVINCES AND CITIES HOSTING GEOTHERMAL ENERGY RESOURCES OR GEOTHERMAL POWER GENERATION FACILITIES, INCLUDING PROVINCES ADJACENT TO HIGHLY URBANIZED CITIES AND INDEPENDENT COMPONENT CITIES HOSTING SUCH RESOURCES OR FACILITIES, TO DIRECTLY PURCHASE ELECTRICITY FROM QUALIFIED GEOTHERMAL POWER PRODUCERS, EXEMPTING SUCH PURCHASES FROM THE COMPETITIVE SELECTION PROCESS, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION 23 OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9136, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE “ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY REFORM ACT OF 2001,” AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
