Legislators with documented ties to government contractors
Public records and published reporting show 21 of the 345 members of the 20th Congress linked to firms that also appear as government contractors: as officers, through family members listed in corporate records, or through campaign contributions declared in their own SOCE. Each entry quotes its source. A tie is not evidence of wrongdoing; several officials have denied any role in the firms' contracts, and those statements are quoted where the source carries them.
Baseline: 7,717 DPWH contractors in our records. Linked firms average 85.2 projects versus 31.2 for others. This is a correlation, not a cause; larger, older firms are both more likely to be reported on and to win more contracts.
